August Meeting: An Integrated Community approach Addressing Gang Violence
Updated: Aug 6, 2020
Integrating Community, Health, Education, & Research Perspectives

This month's Level Up meeting will be an interactive discussion about the complex community needs for addressing gang violence. The goal is to build on the collaboration's ongoing conversation concerning youth and gang violence to increase awareness, drive action, and build local capacity to more effectively address this public health concern via comprehensive planning. The this session is part of Project SEEDS Heals' efforts to share common challenges and promising strategies, and through coordinated action.
Speakers leading the discussion included Brother Lyle Muhammad (Executive Director of Circle of Brotherhood Miami), Dr. Armen Henderson (Internal Medicine Physician of University of Miami Health Systems ), Mr. Jonathan Spikes (Executive Director of Affirming Youth) and Dr. Dionne Stephens (Associate Professor in FlU's Psychology Department). Radio personality Tamara "TamaraG" Gant facilitated the discussion.
